Stretch forming is a stamping process that uses a die to form a flat blank into an open hollow part. As one of the main stamping processes, drawing is widely used. The drawing process can be used to make cylindrical, rectangular, stepped, spherical, tapered, parabolic and other irregularly shaped thin-walled parts. If combined with other stamping forming processes, more complex parts can also be made.

1. Stretching processing: using a platen device and the punching force of a punch, a part or all of the flat plate is pulled into the concave cavity to shape it into a bottomed container. The processing of the side walls of the container parallel to the stretching direction is a simple stretching process, while the stretching processing of conical (or angular cone) shaped containers, hemispherical containers and parabolic containers also includes expansion processing.

2. Re-stretching: that is, for deep-drawn products that cannot be completed by one-time stretching, the formed products need to be stretched again to increase the depth of the forming container.

3. Reverse stretching processing: The process of stretching the workpiece in the previous step is reversed, the inside of the workpiece becomes the outside, and its outer diameter is reduced.

4. Thinning and stretching processing: The formed container is squeezed into a concave cavity slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the container with a punch, so that the outer diameter of the container with a bottom is reduced, and the wall thickness is thinner at the same time, which not only eliminates the wall thickness deviation, but also lubricates the surface of the container.
